Established the engineering consultancy practice Mark Dyer Associates in conjunction with Procon Project Management with a joint turnover of £650,000. The practice specialised in expertise technical advice and strategic planning for environmental studies, contaminated land remediation, flood defences and project management. The practice was awarded the Technology Foresight Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering to participate in the Dutch NOBIS programme for innovative methods for remediation of contaminated land (1997). |

As part of the Research and Development Centre at TH Technology, monitored several construction projects to provide technical innovation and improve productivity including (a) construction of the Sudden Valley Sewer, Rochdale using an earth pressure balance tunnelling machine, b) prop loads for several major excavations in central London.
Seconded to Cementation Piling and Foundation as an Area Engineer for the South West and Wales region. Advised clients (Consultants, Contractors and Developers) on the feasibility of using piling, ground treatment and anchor systems and the likely construction costs. Prepared tenders and supervised construction work for piling ground treatment and ground anchors schemes valued at £8 M pa.
